Tyson Amir is an author, musician, educator, community organizer, and freedom fighter born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Tyson is the founder and director of the Black Literary Collective (BLC) and Freedom Soul Media Education Initiatives (FSMEI), a consulting firm for revolutionary education. FSMEI has worked with over 125 schools; delivered more than 360 programs; and served more than 30,000 students through its groundbreaking, revolutionary programming; PDs and workshops; curriculum; and culture, community, and climate building.
Dr. Jeff Duncan-Andrade is an urban educator, researcher, activist, and associate professor of Latina/o Studies and Race and Resistance at San Francisco State University. He has been ranked as one of the nation’s most influential scholars by EdWeek’s Public Influence Rankings. His work and methods of teaching have been widely studied and acclaimed for producing uncommon levels of social and academic success for students.
As a nonspeaking autistic person who was denied access to effective augmentative communication until she was 18, Jordyn Zimmerman has personal experience challenging the educational status quo, which is featured in the 2021 documentary, This Is Not About Me. Technology helped open Jordyn's world and she began advocating for students through a series of presentations. Since then, she has thrived on challenging what is possible in learning spaces and broader communities.
Yomi S. Wrong is an Oakland, CA-based consultant, trainer, activist and disability justice dreamer. She is the former Executive Director of the renowned Center for Independent Living, the nation's first cross-disability service and advocacy organization run by disabled people.
